The participants of the Greater Tumen Initiative discuss the development of multi-tourism in Primorye
In the Primorsky Territory today, May 18, was held the seventh session of the Council on tourism of the Greater Tumen Initiative.
The Director of the Secretariat of the GTI WayneWang noted, opening the session, that tourism today – is not only traveling and cultural exchange but also the engine of economic development. The participating countries of the GTI should facilitate development of tourism including through simplification of visa procedures.
The participants of the session paid special attention on the importance of informational exchange in tourism: it is necessary to have modern and available data bases about all tourist resources of the North-Eastern Asia. Also it is necessary to develop interesting tourist products popular with the people of the region.
The Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Tourism Development of the Primorsky Territory Vladimir Shyur noted that such a portal functioning in Primorye and provide the information in five languages – Russian, English, Chinese, Japanese and Korean. He offered to the GTI partners to make a link to it in the same web-sites of their territories.
During the session was made a presentation of the Multi-tourism Promotion Center which was created this March in accordance with the decision had been made in one of the session of the Council. The place of it location became city Hunchun in Jilin province.
The task of the Center is to promote the practical cooperation in tourism and the creation of operating tourist ring in the NEA, the support of exact tourist projects. In the nearest 3 years the Center have to prepare and organize the Tourist Forum of the NEA, to held annual “round tables”, trainings, and support educational projects.
The result of the session was a resolution where was noted a progress in tourism cooperation of the GTI. Also in the document was noted the position of all participants which will support the work of the Multi-tourism Promote Center.
The Participants of the session discussed the necessity of visa regime simplification for citizens of the GTI participating countries. It was noted that establishing of non-visas regime between Russian and the Republic of Korea since the January 1 of this year had the positive influence for the tourist flow between these countries.
Also the presentation of tours in Primorye oriented to the citizens of Korea and China was presented to the participants of the session. It was prepared by one of the operator companies for the entry direction.
In addition the participants of the session discussed the plan of work for 2014 and demined the venue of the next session of the Council of Tourism of the GTI. It will be held in Mongolia.
